Scene 2 (7s)

[Audio] Kia Ora and welcome to the Meeanee Overbridge Project induction. As part of the Hawke's Bay Expressway upgrade, this project will deliver two new overbridges to improve safety and traffic flow. Delivered by Brian Perry Civil in partnership with Waka Kotahi and Napier City Council, our goal is to complete the work safely and efficiently..

Scene 3 (19s)

[Audio] ***The Hawkes Bay Expressway is experiencing growing congestion and safety issues to Kennedy Rd and Meeanee Rd intersections. Current overbridges can't meet future traffic demand, so this project will deliver two four-span, two lane overbridges. Works include piling, structural and earthworks, lighting, and traffic management, all in compliance with safety and environmental standards. Once complete, the bridges will improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and enhance safety, supporting regional growth and aligning with NZTA's strategic objectives..

Scene 4 (49s)

[Audio] ***The Hawke's Bay Expressway faces increasing congestion and safety challenges at the Kennedy Rd and Meeanee Rd intersections. To support future traffic growth, this project will deliver two new four-span, two-lane overbridges, including piling, earthworks, structural works, lighting, and traffic management. Once complete, the project will improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety, supporting regional growth and NZTA's strategic objectives..

[Audio] Feedback is vital to project success. Employee Observation Cards are available for reporting hazards, near misses, injuries, environmental, quality, or positive observations. We encourage reporting of all issues and successes. Once completed, submit your card to the Project Management Team so actions can be taken and good work recognised..

Scene 11 (3m 14s)

[Audio] Our goal is zero harm. Everyone must understand their task, identify risks, and follow the rules. If you feel unsafe or unsure, stop work and seek guidance. For health and safety support, speak with your line leader or Tu Maea..

Scene 12 (3m 37s)

[Audio] Visible leadership is all about being present and staying curious. When we engage with our teams, share what we see, and keep learning, we build a stronger safety culture. Through leader walks, quick risk checks, and verifying our critical controls, we make sure everyone goes home safe, every day.

Scene 13 (3m 58s)

[Audio] As a Fletchers group we live by 9 life saving rules.

Scene 21 (7m 9s)

[Audio] Quality is everyone's responsibility. Our goal is to deliver a high-quality project that exceeds client expectations. Doing it First Time Right saves time, reduces rework, and protects our reputation. Think before you act—get it right the first time..

Scene 22 (7m 35s)

[Audio] Our Quality Rules keep quality front and centre: Never bypass an ITP hold point – it can lead to non-compliance and rework. Never change materials or methods without written approval – verbal approvals are not accepted..

Scene 23 (8m 2s)

[Audio] Think before you act. Good safety starts with solid planning, clear communication, and checking the work as you go. When we plan well, do the job right, check often, and act on what we see, we keep everyone safe..

Scene 24 (8m 46s)

Scene 25 (9m 21s)

[Audio] Report all injuries immediately. We'll support your recovery and return to work. Subcontractors must notify us as soon as an injury occurs so we can assist both the worker and employer through the required process..

Scene 26 (9m 37s)

[Audio] Brian Perry Civil has a zero-tolerance approach to drugs and alcohol. To help ensure everyone gets home safe, testing may be carried out at the following times: Pre-employment – Required before starting work on site. For subcontractors, testing costs are the subcontractor's responsibility. Random testing – Can occur at any time during the project. Post-incident testing – Required following an incident or accident as part of the investigation. For cause testing – Conducted where there is reasonable suspicion that a person may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at work. Compliance with these testing requirements is a condition of working on this project and helps maintain a safe workplace for everyone..
